Day 1: Casablanca – Meknes – Fes
Upon arriving at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca or the train station, spend the first half-day exploring the landmarks of this large city. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, the third-largest mosque in the Islamic world that can hold over 86,000 worshippers. The minaret dominates the city’s horizon with its striking architecture that amazes every visitor. Drive along the paved Corniche of Ain Diab before reaching the famous Rick’s Cafe where the movie Casablanca was filmed.
We will continue on to Meknes, founded by the late Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. Start our tour at the impressive Bab Mansour, stretch your legs in the nearby olive market, visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and explore the high walls of the Royal Palace before reaching the granaries and stables. Later, we will continue our drive to Fes where we will spend our time.
Day 2: Fes - Volubilis - Ouazane - Chefchaouen
We’ll leave Fes and head for Chefchaouen, passing through the picturesque coastal fields. We’ll drive by the city of Taza before arriving in the Rif Mountains, the heart of the serene blue and white city. As you approach Chefchaouen, you’ll be greeted by a stunning valley filled with blue-washed buildings. Check in at Dar Terrae, an Andalusian-style guesthouse, and enjoy a delicious tajine and couscous dinner with a glass of red wine on one of the inn’s three rooftop terraces. After lunch, we’ll continue on to Casablanca, where we may have the opportunity to visit the Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche, Mohammed V Place, the United Nations Place, the Law Court, the Prefecture, and the central post office. In the evening, we’ll drop you off at Casablanca Airport, ending our 3-day trip from Casablanca to Fes in Morocco.
