Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
We will start our 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour early in the morning from Fes and begin our journey toward the Sahara Desert. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, a charming mountain town often known for its clean streets, alpine-style architecture, and cool mountain climate. From there, we will continue through the beautiful cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we may have the opportunity to see the famous Barbary macaques. We will then drive toward Midelt, known for its apples and beautiful mountain scenery, where we can stop for lunch and enjoy the surrounding landscapes.
After lunch, we will continue through the dramatic Ziz Valley, with its green palm groves and impressive views of the surrounding mountains. As we get closer to Merzouga, the landscape will gradually change and the golden sand dunes of the Sahara will appear in the distance. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Merzouga and begin our camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will ride across the golden desert while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and watching the sunset over the Sahara. After reaching our desert camp, we will have a traditional Moroccan dinner and enjoy an evening of Berber music around the campfire under the beautiful desert sky before spending the night in the Sahara.
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
We will wake up early on our second day to enjoy one of the most beautiful moments of the trip, the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. Watching the first light appear over the golden dunes is an unforgettable experience, and we will have time to take photos and enjoy the peaceful morning before returning to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. We will then continue our journey through the desert landscapes toward Rissani and Erfoud, passing through small villages and beautiful oases along the way.
Our journey will take us toward Tinghir, where we will visit the spectacular Todra Gorge, one of the most impressive natural attractions in southern Morocco. We will have time to walk through the narrow canyon, admire the enormous red rock walls, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. After visiting the gorge, we will continue toward the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic mountains, unique rock formations, green oasis, and traditional villages. We will spend the night in a local hotel or guesthouse, where we can relax after another beautiful day on the road and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
On the final day of our tour, we will leave the Dades Valley after breakfast and continue toward Marrakech. We will drive through the beautiful Valley of Roses, an area famous for its rose fields and traditional villages, before reaching Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara. From Ouarzazate, we will continue to the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a historic fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will have time to explore the narrow streets, traditional buildings, and beautiful views around the kasbah, and we can learn more about the history and architecture of this fascinating place.
After our visit, we will continue our journey through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, we will stop at viewpoints where we can admire the dramatic mountain scenery and take some memorable photographs. We will then descend from the mountains and continue toward Marrakech. In the late afternoon or evening, we will arrive in Marrakech, where our 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour will come to an end.
