4 Days Fes To Merzouga Dunes To Marrakech

DAY 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga Dunes - (Erg Chebbi):

After breakfast, You will start early today for a drive through the average Atlas Mountains to reach the brim of the Sahara. Late in the afternoon, set off by camel to a desert camp deep in the dunes (Erg Chebbi). Learn how to tie a turban to keep the desert sun off your face and add a little glow to your photos. Enjoy a cozy welcome (with mint tea). A traditional dinner beneath the stars, cooked by our hosts, awaits. In the evening, listen to stories about life in this region and, perhaps, some traditional music on the drums. Additional Notes: Notes to set up the tents of the Sahara camp: There will be an opportunity repack and take only bags overnight to the desert. The accommodations are basic, with four people per tent (though feel free to sleep out under the stars). Bathroom facilities are.....nature. Mattresses with sheet and blanket are provided. For winter months (Nov- April), we recommend bringing a sleeping bag for additional warmth. Private Vehicle (10.30 hours) Ride out to the tented camp for the night. Local guides will teach you how to mount and dismount and other handy camel-related safety tips. Camel (1.20 hours).

Day 2: Erg Chebbi - Rissani - Todra Gorges:

 In the morning we will go into the mountains, to a region known as Imouzzer, which is blanketed in forests of cedar, juniper and cork oak. The area is well known for its abundant wildlife, and many types of birds, wild boar and Barbary apes may be seen on our scenic drive. The road will then start to climb into the Middle Atlas mountains; the slopes may be dotted with the tents and goat herds of nomadic Berbers who call this rugged region home. After a late lunch in Midelt, we continue along mountain roads overlooking the wide flowing Oued Ziz. Passing kasbahs and palm groves, we continue through the adobe-colored city of Er-Rachidia and in the late afternoon arrive into Merzouga, a small town on the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. Overnight in Merzouga. 

Day 3: Todra Gorges - Dades Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate:

Breakfast at the hotel, we start our trip along the way of Thousand Kasbahs, since there are colossal kasbahs on both sides of the street. Some of the aforementioned old strengthened houses are restored however sadly a considerable measure of them are vestiges. We pass through Dades valley and continue off road to the rocky region , where numerous Berber villages and many nomads living in caverns, here we will have the opportunity to visit one of this families and investigate their day life and their fundamental movement “Looking after groups of goats & chirp”. We will be astounded by the scenes of the brilliant roses valley before we achieve Skoura palm groves. 45km further, we achieve Ouarzazate for the night in a local hotel.

Day 4: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas - Marrakech:

After breakfast, we will start our trip by a visit of cinema studios found in Ouarzazate which is regarded as Hollywood of Africa. Subsequently we will visit the all inclusive Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by Unesco in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been utilized as a setting for more than 20 movies incorporating “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Revel in a stroll to investigate the universal Moroccan style of construction modeling in which the Kasbahs are constructed. We proceed our approach to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’tichka pass. Stop for lunch up the center of the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your riad or hotel in Marrakech.
